RecordSlate Privacy

RecordSlate is being built as a local-first Mac screen recorder. Recording media stays on your Mac unless you choose to move it elsewhere.

Website hosting and analytics

Our public website uses Cloudflare Pages for hosting. Cloudflare processes web requests to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views, visits, traffic sources, and page performance. Its analytics beacon does not use cookies or local storage to track visitors, and Cloudflare says it does not fingerprint individuals or track them across websites. See Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Website analytics is separate from the Mac app. We do not send recordings, form contents, email addresses, or StoreKit transactions to our analytics service. Analytics blockers may prevent website measurement without affecting access to these pages.

App data

The Mac app records the local sources you select and writes output files to a local folder. The app does not require an account and is not designed to upload recordings.

Permissions

The app asks macOS for Screen Recording, Camera, and Microphone access so it can capture the sources you choose.

Subscriptions and payments

Apple processes App Store subscriptions and payments. The Mac app uses StoreKit to check verified subscription access on your device. RecordSlate does not receive your payment-card details or send your recordings or subscription transactions to a developer-operated server.

Apple handles purchase and account information under Apple’s privacy policy. You can manage or cancel your plan in your Apple Account subscription settings.

Waitlist data

If you join the waitlist, the public website sends your email address to Splitforms so we can manage early-access updates. Earlier versions of the form also collected an optional name and selected use case.

Form provider and technical data

Each submission includes a routing label identifying it as a waitlist or support request and our public Splitforms form identifier. Empty anti-spam honeypot controls are checked in your browser and removed before a legitimate submission is sent.

Splitforms acts as our form-processing provider. For each waitlist or support submission, it also stores the source IP address, browser user-agent, referring page, and submission timestamp. Splitforms uses this metadata for rate limiting, spam and abuse detection, troubleshooting, allowed-domain enforcement, submission ordering, and quota calculation.

Splitforms stores submissions and this metadata in the United States using its listed service providers. Its default policy retains submissions for the lifetime of our Splitforms account unless we delete an individual submission; account deletion removes active records and provider backups rotate within 30 days. See Splitforms data-protection details.

Your choices

You can choose not to join the waitlist. To ask a question, request access, or request deletion, use the support form with the same email address. We can delete individual submissions from Splitforms.

You can also email contact@codevev.com for privacy questions or deletion requests.

Support messages

The support form sends your email address and message to Splitforms so we can respond to your request. Do not include passwords, payment details, or recording files.
