RecordSlate Support
Help for setup, permissions, local recording folders, and editor handoff.
Permissions
RecordSlate needs macOS permission for Screen Recording, Camera, and Microphone before it can capture selected local sources.
Open System Settings > Privacy & Security, then grant access in Screen & System Audio Recording, Camera, and Microphone.
Recordings
RecordSlate saves recordings to a local folder you choose. A normal take creates separate files for screen video, camera video, microphone audio, and a timing manifest.
Subscriptions
At launch, RecordSlate Annual will be offered through the App Store. An active subscription or eligible trial is required to start a new recording. Setup previews and existing recordings remain available when access ends.
If an existing purchase is not recognized, open Subscription in the app and choose Restore Purchases using the Apple Account that made the purchase. A purchase never starts recording automatically: return to New Recording and click Record when ready.
Use Manage Subscription to manage or cancel your plan with Apple. Cancellation or expiration does not interrupt a take already in progress.
Editing
The intended workflow is to import the separate source files into your editor, especially Premiere, so you can cut between screen and camera shots without flattening everything first.
